Publisher's Synopsis
A New York slum overlooked by luxury apartments highlights the rich/poor divide in a film which explores the question of whether deprived backgrounds create bad guys. Sylvia Sidney, Joel McCrea and Humphrey Bogart star, as do The Dead End Kids who went on en-masse to star in 'Angels with Dirty Faces' (1938) before disintegrating into three distinct groups: The Little Tough Guys, The Eastside Kids and The Bowery Boys.
