I worked with troubled youth on the Navajo Reservation. There is truth to the idea of "The Noble Savage," but they aren't savages, and their nobility lies in their belief in the power of the human spirit. Do you have Native American blood? Many of us believe so. I searched for my truth beyond a tribal connection. I found my Native Spirit. We all have one. The lack of our awareness of it, is what is driving that empty feeling that causes us to ask the why of our existence.
