During these years, he often traveled to remote areas where few white men had ventured, developing deep connections with local villages and tribes.
He formed meaningful partnerships and friendships with the people he encountered and witnessed incredible ceremonies and events. These experiences were ultimately curated into stories that leave readers in awe.
You will meet a man whose leg was amputated, leading to a tragic fate for his loved ones, and another man who amputated his own leg to save his life.
The stories include pagan doctors with remarkable healing abilities, as well as those who use their skills to intimidate and oppress the very tribes they are meant to serve.
You will explore bustling cities and remote villages, sharing in the longing for a world that once was but is gone. Asher Anshil (Hadas) Fraifeld was born in Germany after World War II. His father, Shimon Yosef, and his mother, Sabina, were Holocaust survivors who faced immense hardships during the war, losing their families and spouses; notably, his father lost three children.
Together, they built a life in the Land of Israel, where Asher's younger sister, Leah, was born.
Fraifeld studied construction engineering at the Technion Institute and became actively involved in initiation, planning, and project management in the field. In the 1980s, he returned to his roots and became an observant Jew.
He currently lives in Kiryat Ye'arim and is a proud father of four daughters and a grandfather of seventeen grandchildren. This is his first book.
