Publisher's Synopsis
Meltdowns and shutdowns typically result when an autistic person has been exposed to more stimulation (social interaction, sound, light, touch, smell, etc.) than they can handle. This book follows on from 'Asperger's Syndrome: Meltdowns and Shutdowns' and looks at meltdowns and shutdowns in more detail, as well as how sensory processing difficulties might also be a contributing factor. Sensory difficulties affect many people on the autism spectrum, but it is often underestimated just how significant a contribution they make to stress and anxiety levels.
