Fifteen-year-old Carter Jackson couldn't sleep one night, so he went out and sat on his roof outside his bedroom window. He listened to the creepy sounds of the night, and he watched the bats crisscrossing overhead. It was at that point that Carter dared himself to take a walk through his neighborhood, even though it was 2:00 in the morning. Carter had never been out that late before, but the more he thought about it, the more it excited him. Carter's stroll through the dark neighborhood streets was uneventful ...until he saw a dark shadow moving among the trees and bushes. Thankfully, the shadow didn't see him.
