Rare Book
This is a fairly standard exercise book for a course of commercial arithmetic, largely taken up with exchange in the various countries of Europe - the examples all dated 1790. What makes this volume more interesting is the presence of 'A Collection of Arithmetical Tables, Printed for and Sold by J. Camp, West-Smithfield', an oblong folio broadside, printed in columns (2, 3, or 4), and apparently unrecorded. John Camp was a bookseller, stationer and bookbinder (see Howe and Ramsden) and it was he no doubt who provided the vellum notebook.
