Digitale Vernetzung, globale Wertschöpfung, Echtzeitkommunikation und Social-Media-Präsenz sind heute unabdingbar, für den Erfolg der meisten Unternehmen. Die Heraus-forderung für die einzelnen Mitarbeiter ist es, die dafür notwendigen Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse zu beherrschen, sie kontinuierlich weiterzubilden und gleichzeitig ist die An-forderung an die Unternehmen, dies alles wirksam in einer Struktur zu organisieren und zu steuern.Unternehmen setzen, inspiriert von vielen erfolgreichen Startups, vermehrt auf agile Un-ternehmensstrukturen, um dieser Entwicklung gerecht zu werden. Es ist eine komplexe und schwierige Aufgabe, benötigte Kompetenzen in einer kreativen und schnell agieren-den Organisationsform zusammenzuführen, um als Unternehmen wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Dieses Umfeld des Wandels, bietet viele Chancen und bedeutet im Hinblick auf Führungskompetenz eine große Herausforderung. Die These dieser wissenschaftlichen Ausarbeitung lautet deshalb: Agile Projekte, die durch Emotional Leader geführt werden, sorgen für mehr Mitar-beiterzufriedenheit und können erfolgreicher durchgeführt werden.Der in dieser Arbeit geprägte Begriff des Agile-Emotional-Leadership bezeichnet das Konzept zur Mitarbeiterführung in agilen Projekten unter Berücksichtigung der Prinzipien des Emotional Leaderships. Emotional Leader sind Führungskräfte mit besonderen Ei-genschaften wie bspw. hoher Empathie, großer Beziehungsfähigkeit, erhöhter Selbstref-lexion und ausgeprägter Emotionskontrolle. Diese Eigenschaften werden als charakterli-che Eignung beschrieben.Agiles Projektmanagement ist eine besondere Form der Zusammenarbeit. Unter fast völliger Abwesenheit von Hierarchie arbeiten Führungskräfte mit ihren Mitarbeitern auf Augenhöhe, vernetzt zusammen. Für eine effektive Führungsarbeit müssen Führungs-kräfte moderne Software beherrschen, Prozesswissen und Kommunikationskompetenz besitzen und für den Wandel bereit sein. Diese Eigenschaften werden als fachliche Eig-nung bezeichnet.In dieser Masterthesis wird behauptet, dass in agilen Projekten die Fähigkeiten von Emo-tional Leadern zu erhöhter Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit und zum größerem Projekt- bzw. Unternehmenserfolg führt.
