It all started years before that and no one really noticed because it seems so normal to them. Eden's lover died and that's how everything fell apart piece by piece. New clues, mixed relationships, fake stories, different angles, it was complicated but they had to work together for it to work. All 9 of them, they ran away and went on adventures thinking the time spent together would help them figure out who was responsible.
They were never that realistic. They've always pulled stupid stunts and laughed their way through it. Living like the movies was always easy for them. They tried out different ways and plans to figure out who commit the murder, including Eden pretending to fall in love again and Parker suggesting to steal the files.
But the answer was right below their noses the entire time.
