I remember when I began praying to God, "Lord please send me a husband." My request didn't seem out of order, at least not to me. I thought I'd been a "good" Christ follower and deserved to have a life partner, a companion, someone to love who would love me in return. I met Richard and several years later we married thinking we had found that fairy tale love we dreamed of and would live our happily ever after, but what happened, life happened. I woke up one day and I was a widow. Even though there may have been setbacks, I'm here to say almost eight years later God has kept me. My world changed in an instant and I'm still getting used to my new normal. One thing I can attest to is that grief is real, and we all handle it differently.
