Many changes have been made in the text by the elimination of old matter and the introduction of new in the description of methods and details of construction. Some spe cial methods of little general service in crown and bridge-work are still presented because they may occasionally furnish suggestions for construction by which some existing obstacle or difficulty can be readily overcome.
