Of the men who lived more than twenty thousand years ago, it may be said that we know nothing save that they lived and had edge - tools of stone. We find their bones, their arrowheads, their ?int knives or scrap ers, and the marks of their tools or weapons on fossil wood or bone, and very little more. These remains fur nish much material for remark to the archaeologist, but little for the historian.
