We had only two animals to carry our baggage, and, since pro visions and bedding were necessary, my botanical outfit had to be very limited and l was not able to collect as much as I would have liked. Then, too, the time was so short, so that while I tried to collect specimens of all the different kinds of plants that grew along the trails, none were collected in abundance; possibly some of the commoner species were neglected, and probably some of the rarest overlooked.
