Publisher's Synopsis
Three very different stories set in the jungle, in the great inhospitable north that reaches 60 degrees below zero and on a tropical island, with the same theme: the struggle for life and survival as the engine that moves the world and the essence of life. "The Red Idol" tells the adventure of an explorer in search of the origin of a strange sound, who is left alone in the jungle of the imaginary island of Burunaga, which seems to be in the Indian Ocean, beset by diseases, mosquitoes, head reducers and an indigenous woman who chases him. Thus, you will discover something mysterious and unexpected, which will also surprise the reader. The next one, "Like Argos in Heroic Times" is the epic of a stubborn and brave seventyyearold old man who is halfminded to go up to the north of the Yukon in the middle of the gold rush to get $ 300,000 and return home on a journey as epic, as real. Finally, I tell "Chun Ah Chun" about the life of a crafty Chinese man in Honolulu, how he makes his way in life, gets rich, and what he does to marry off his twelve children and order his life when he reaches a certain point. Again it seems the story of a real character, rather than imaginary.
