September 1939, Panzer Commander Carl Wolff and his friend and driver Bodo "Bo" Hass await the signal to begin the invasion of Poland. Their initial excitement and national fervour will soon be tested as they witness the horrors of modern warfare, and the bestial atrocities carried out by men when they are driven by a self-righteous national fervour, which quickly descends into pure hatred. Carl and Bo face determined and courageous opponents who are fighting for the very existence of their country. Terrible losses on both sides as major battles swing for and against each of the combatants. Witness the battle unfold from a different perspective as we also follow the events from the Polish side, with the actions of a young infantryman and his squad.
