Johannesburg, 1976, life under apartheid promises a bright future for Robin, a nine-year-old white girl who lives with her family in the city. In the same country, yet worlds apart, Beauty, a woman who lives in a rural village on a Bantu reserve, struggles to bring up her children after the death of her husband. Their lives were built on the racial divide and never should have crossed. Everything changes during the disturbances in Soweto and student protests. After that, their destinies becomes intertwined.
