This is a short (17,000 word) history of America in the Jefferson years. The author is not a huge fan of Jefferson, but he doesn't side with Hamilton against Jefferson either. There's an emphasis in all of Mike's books on foreign policy. Most of the segments are short, but there's a few pages on the Louisiana Purchase and the incident between the Leopard and the Chesapeake.
