Publisher's Synopsis
The Council of Eternal Light is preparing for the birth of Jacob & Milly Crowe's child. The more the child grows, the weaker The Reaper's powers become, due to the strengthening of His bloodline through Jacob Crowe. Julius Archibald hopes to finally be free of The Reaper when the child arrives, and plans to use the baby to secure the Council's survival.
Meanwhile, a stranger arrives in Wildermoor, with the power to take down The Reaper's demon army. This man is known as the Trickerjack, and he quickly gains a group of disciples. After a public display of his powers, he lures the remaining living residents of Wildermoor to a mirage-like mansion in the centre of the plains, claiming that he is their saviour and their only hope of survival.
As Frank Doyle escapes several attacks of the umbra, he finds himself in St. Dymphna's Research Facility... where the identity of Patient 29 is finally revealed.
