In fact, baking is so popular during the festive season that America celebrates two significant dates in the culinary calendar. The first, Bake Cookies Day takes place on December 18th and National Pfeffern?sse Day quickly follows on December 23rd. Pfeffern?sse are small, round German spiced cookies. The cookies, which made their way to the USA thanks to German immigrants, are a Christmas holiday tradition. While National Pfeffern?sse Day is celebrated on December 23rd, it's on Christmas Eve that girls and boys in America, and beyond eagerly await the arrival of Father Christmas.
