A telling of epic poetry of the struggles of one vampire, who having fallen for a mortal tries to come to grips with the feelings of seeing the beauty of mortality and the reality of what he is and the world that no one sees. This tale talks about the first Shade, the name for vampires in this telling, and his struggle with being what he is and how he became it. He mainly talks about a mortal that he has met that is so telling to him about what it means to be human and how it makes him feel about how beautiful mortality really is. This battle comes to full reality in him.
