In the Patterns Differentiated Curriculum Kit for Grade 1, students will discover patterns in literature, arts, and science. Their investigations will focus on discoveries of the human body, cycles, graphs, economics, biographies, and citizenship. In Patterns Book 1: Literature, Arts, and Science, students will explore poetry, music, and games from the perspective of a pattern detective. In Patterns Book 2: Body, Cycles, and Graphs, students will discover that patterns exist everywhere they look. They will be able to recognize patterns in the body, in cycles, and in graphs. In Patterns Book 3: Economics, Biographies, and Citizenship, students will use keys to unlock patterns. They will be exposed to basic lessons on economics, and will examine their personal goals and citizenship. Each book contains detailed lesson plans, reproducible activity sheets, and assessment tools.
