Publisher's Synopsis
The debut novel from Josh Baldwin, BECOMING YOU AND I, a young adult contemporary, follows Jamie Watkins and Clara Ashwood, who both share one dream: to be successful designers within the fashion industry. After leaving Oakwood High, Jamie and Clara decide to go against the wishes of their parents to pursue traditional jobs, which results in the breakdown of their relationships. But this - along with the remarks from school thug Nelson and gossip girl Beatrice - is enough to convince them to prove everybody else wrong and to prove themselves right. Escaping to Clara's estranged grandmother's house on the coast and with Granny Ashwood's help, the duo set up a small stall to kickstart their dream. Before they know it, they're jetting off to New York City, where they meet self-made musicians Jake and Emily. From their penthouse, the newly-formed team join forces to make their dreams realities. However, nothing is ever that simple, and Jamie and Clara will have to put their friendship and their drive to the test to overcome the obstacles that lay in the way...
