All the regulations governing the inspection of merchant vessels are contained in Chapter I, Title 46 (shipping) of the Code of Federal Regulations (46 ofe). These regulations are applicable to merchant tank vessels subject to Title 52 of the Revised Statutes (secs. 4399 - 4500) and acts amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto. The specific application of these regulations is set forth in detail in the regulations.
