Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Chemical and Physiological Balance of Organic Nature: An Essay
With regard to the shape in which this little work is published, it will be enough to state that after having settled our views upon the various questions it embraces, one of us took upon himself the task of developing these views in his Course at the Ecole de Medecine, and of giving a summary of them in a concluding discourse, which is here reported verbatim.
We have, however, added, in the form of an Appendix, a series of documents comprising a definite statement of the principal facts and most important laws.
