Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The University of Kansas Science Bulletin, Vol. 47: March-October, 1967

Nine different fragments of cones were exposed in one coal ball and one in another. Whether they all represented different cones or fragments of a few cones is uncertain, but as the longest specimen exposed reached 25 mm with no sign of tapering at either end, it may be assumed that a number of the transverse exposures probably represented the curving path of single long cones. All of the specimens were close to mm in diameter.
