Excerpt from Transactions of the Gaelic Society of Inverness, Vol. 18: 1891-92
This, the 18th Volume of the Society's Transactions contains the work of one year and a half - from Midsummer 1891 till the mid session of 1893 (lst March, The departure from the rule of publishing an annual volume is temporary the Society's yearly volumes were getting so far in arrear of the sessions they repre sented that the Publishing Committee decided to compress the work of three years into two volumes more especially as a favour able opportunity presented itself in the unusual number of papers of a general character with which they had to deal, and which could be either omitted or condensed. As a consequence, our Volume XIX. Will represent the period from 1st 'march, 1893, to end of session 1893-1894 and it is expected that it will be in the hands of the members by the N ew-year time. Our volumes will be then abreast of our sessions. It is right to add that we owe the two maps, which form the only extra feature of the volume, to the courtesy and skill of Mr James Fraser, c.e., Inverness.
