Ich habe entwickelt, wie aus der bloß auf Lebensklugheit gerichteten Erzählung des Pe trus Alfonfi, die von ihm nicht erfunden wurde, eine ganze Reihe von Erzählungen in Profa und Verfen herfiießt, wah rend die tieferen Sinn erfchließende Parabel des angeblichen J 0annes von Damafkus, die wiederum auf älteren im Orient verbreiteten, urfprünglich buddhiftifchen Dichtungen beruht.
