Ce qui acheva' de l'y déterminer, ce fut de voir le Bol16mien continuer sa course avec une vitesse non ralentie, mème après que la première impulsion de sa fuite avoit cessé de se faire sentir; ce qui sembloit indiquer que sa carrière ay0it un but plus certain un tout autre objet que ne l'auroit eu naturellement un homme chassé d'un bon logement, presque à minuit, sans s'y attendre, et qui n'avoit songé qu'à s'en procurer 'un autre. Il le suivit sans ètre aperçu car le Bohémien ne tourna pas la tète une seule fois mais après avoir traversé la prairie, il s'arrèta au bord d'un petit ruisseau dont les rires étoient couvertes d'aunes et de saules et sonna du cer avec précaution toute fois et en ménageant le son. Un coup de sif?et partant à peu de distance lfii répondit sur le-champ.
