Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A Glossary of Terms Used in Grecian, Roman, Italian, and Gothic Architecture, Vol. 2: Plates
P The age of this church is much disputed, and it is not easy to decide the point; the work is very rich, and its general character, with the banded shafts, appears late, but it is peculiar, and banded shafts in themselves are no proof of late date; they occur in foreign work at a much earlier date.
