Publisher's Synopsis
What happens when the world runs out of bananas? Or any other valuable resource which we depend on such as oil?Have you ever wondered about the danger that garbage which is incorrectly disposed of poses to animals? Or even to humans? The two stories in "The Junglies Collection 3" are intended to create awareness about these questions and their answers through the usual delightful stories woven by Francois and beautifully illustrated by Agassi Tjong. In "Te Junglies and the Last Banana", earth has run out of bananas. Kiki and Abbit go to the moon to fetch the last living banana tree so the world can grow new crops of bananas. On the moon, they meet aliens who are looking for Earth. Their planet has tun out of resources and now they want Earth's resources! Can Abbit and Kiki save Earth by misleading the aliens? This story is intended to make us ask what we would do if Earth ran out of resources and serves to help teach young children about the importance of green living. In "Kiki in the Bottle", Kiki gets his head stuck in a bottle. He can't get hi hed out of the bottle and seeks help but everyone runs away as they don't recognize him and think he is a monster. Will Kiki be saved or will his head be stuck in a bottle forever? This story highlights the importance of disposing of garbage in the proper manner as well as creating awareness about recycling. We should be teaching our children to be responsible with regard to respecting and conserving nature and resources while setting an example for our children at the same time. The "Junglies" stories are about the adventures of five jungle animals and their game warden friend. The stories are good to introduce children to the subject of "Unity in Diversity" as the animals re best friends despite being different..The "Junglies" can also be used to introduce children to the subject of "endangered species" as the animals represented by the characters all have at least one sub-species that is endangered including rabbits!
