Publisher's Synopsis
This is a compilation of letters my father wrote home to his family while serving in the European Theater during WWII. Although it is mostly a one-sided conversation, as you read through the letters, his detailed descriptions of the people, the landscape, the weather and his experiences, a complete picture begins to emerge. You get a better understanding of the era, the slang, movies of that time and the mood of the people. His letters have been transcribed for legibility purposes, with photographs at the end. In the back of the book are scanned copies of the original letters.
