Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Weekly Station Reports of the Office of Dry Land Agriculture Investigations: July, 1926
Some of the early seeding has begun to turn. From appearance now, Winter wheat on fallow will probably make 25 bushels per acre. This is the first year since 1916 that winter wheat has shown a really normal growth. As is shown in the following table, our rainfall for the first 6 months of this year is decidedly deficient. Were it not for the fact that the subsoil Was well filled from the rainfall last fall, conditions would have been much more serious than they are.
