Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from American Quarterly Review, Vol. 12: September and December, 1832

The laws of England, from which country we have received so much good of every kind - must not they be good? And do not the laws of England punish murderers by death i Now, my thought is, that as England does so, it would be well for us to do so that is my thought.
