Excerpt from Tables of Cotton-Fiber Strength for Flat Bundle Strength Tests at 1/8-Inch Gauge
The tables for the l/8-inch gauge tests were prepared for use in the laboratories of the Cotton Division, Agricultural Marketing Service. Other laboratories also may find the tables useful in reducing the time required for calculating fiber strength results In cases when either the beam read ing or the fiber bundle weight do not fall within the range of the tables the above fomula may be used to calculate the tensile strength ratio.
