Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Edwards's Botanical Register, or Ornamental Flower-Garden and Shrubbery, Vol. 7: Consisting of Coloured Figures of Plants and Shrubs, Cultivated in British Gardens; Accompanied by Their History, Best Method of Treatment in Cultivation, Propagation, &C.; Vol. XX. Of the Entire Work
We presume that this, like all the Cape Orchideous plants, is incapable of being cultivated permanently by any means hitherto discovered; for the roots, although when first imported they ?ower, afterwards disappear. They should be planted in sandy loam, and kept in as light a greenhouse as possible; for it is probable that the reason of their disappearing is the want of light during their grow ing season in this country.
