IN pursuance of the task entrusted to us by your predecessor, we have the honour to submit an Interim Report on the Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industries. The Report deals mainly with the more technical aspects of the subject, and does not touch on certain wide questions of policy which, though falling Within our terms of Reference, closely affect Shipping, and are therefore reserved for consideration in our Final Report.
