Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from 35th Annual Honors Day Program: Friday Morning, May 8, 1959, at 10: 15, University Auditorium, Navy Pier

Honors day is observed annually as an occasion upon which the University of Illinois gives public recognition to those students who excel in scholarship.

The University Senate, in establishing Hon ors Day, provided that announcement shall be made of the names of undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves in scholarship during the two previous semesters; with the exception that in the case of freshmen the honors award is to be based upon the grades for one semester only.
