Publisher's Synopsis

This first volume of short poems titled 'little trips' encapsulates Haiku seasonal poetry from Japan. Although Haiku poems have a particular structure in Japanese, simplified as 17 syllables in three lines, the author does not limit the poems to that fixed structure. Instead, he adopts an alternative structure summarized as short, long, short (lines) quite similar to the basic principles used in haiku writing.

'little trips' results from the pure observation and contemplation of last year's events, including the places visited as well as the internal struggles we faced during the pandemic. The 9-chapter experience starts in the UAE and continues its journey across South Africa, Mexico, Colombia and Laos, attempting to bring a bit of those marvellous places to all readers. Finally, the author hopes readers will create their own interpretation, enjoy the journey, and fill the unexplained gaps between the lines.
