Publisher's Synopsis
A collection of poetry spanning ten years, starting when the author was sixteen in October 2006 and ending in October 2016. A Syrian-American filmmaker who was raised both in Syria and the States, the author copes through writing in her search for identity and acceptance of herself. Living with mental illness and attempting to forge oneself from internal, often invisible struggles are consistent themes throughout this collection, ultimately demonstrating the use of poetry as an ageless method of catharsis and introspection from teenage years into adulthood. Front and back covers designed by the author. The back cover is an art piece she made in September 2014, a series of five tissues titled "duct & cover".
