a-ha, a synth-pop group formed in Oslo, Norway during 1982 by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (guitars), Magne Furuholmen (keyboards and guitars) & Morten Harket (vocals), became famous during the mid-'80s. The band had their biggest hit with their1st L.P. 'Hunting High and Low' in 1985. The album, which topped the charts in Norway, making UK #2 then US # 15, produced a couple of international # 1 singles: 'Take On Me' & 'The Sun Always Shines on T.V.', the group receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Hunting High and Low continued its chart success into the following year in the UK, becoming one of the best-selling L.Ps of 1986. The band issued studio albums during 1986, 1988 & 1990, along with hit singles including title-track 'Hunting High and Low', The Living Daylights, Stay on These Roads & Crying in the Rain. After their 5th studio L.P., Memorial Beach (1993), failed to sell as well as their previous albums, the group had an extended break
