Publisher's Synopsis

Zio the Hero is a cross between Dr Who and Robin Hood. Three boys, Robert and twin brothers Timothy and Michael, live a normal quiet life with their father. They do not know that they are time travelers. One morning, after getting ready for school, they go downstairs for breakfast But they can't find their father or their breakfast! The boys are not used to being alone in a big house and after searching the house they decide to check the cellar, the one room they are not allowed in. They find an old oak door that leads down a cold stone passage and into the 14th century! They find themselves in a stone cottage in a wood and are introduced to Tregore who lives there. He is the King's executioner and he loves to sharpen his axe. The King has lost his crown and an ancient prophecy foretold of the boys' arrival. They meet Tobias, a boy about Robert's age and Zio the Dragon. Along with the Royal children Rebekah (who hates being called Princess), Nathaniel and Adam who they also meet, they set about their quest. The King's arch enemy, the Evil Baron Blackheart, will stop at nothing to prevent the crown being found, including murder. Zio means well but is as clumsy as he is helpful; will he help or hinder in the search? The children travel from the 14th to the 21st century and back again as they look for the crown. Will the quest find it and bring peace to a troubled land? Or will Baron Blackheart succeed in preventing the discovery and take the English throne for himself and dispose of the children?
