Zanas and Gaxus are twins; brother and sister, inseparable yet always fighting. They were born in exceptional circumstances, you see their mother is an Elf, her name is unpronounceable by humans, so we shall call her Belle. Their father is a human called Solomon. The twins were born early, they almost did not make it. Gaxus was strong from the start, but Zanas was dying. Zanas pulled through with no lasting damage; so Belle pushed her children to be the best, they survived so now they should thrive. Zanas was to become an Elvin princess. Gaxus was to become an Elvin warrior but before he can achieve this goal, when the twins are separated to go to their different finishing schools, Gaxus is killed in what looks like a terrible accident. Zanas has to cope with losing half her soul while struggling to answer the questions surrounding her twin's death. Her parents heap even more pressure on her to succeed now that their son is gone.
