And he's not the only one. Jennifer Knight, aspiring magic-wielder and recovering kleptomaniac, has been living large ever since accepting her invitation to attend a prestigious wizard college in northern Pennsylvania. But when her goblin boss disappears, the magical portal in her backyard stops working, and her enigmatic shape-shifting protector warns her to avoid wizards at all costs, she begins to worry she'll never make it to orientation. Nevertheless, faced with the trials and tribulations of everyday life, i.e. looking for a job, saving for a car, and attending junior college, Jen decided to find another portal to the wizarding school-even if that means accepting gifts from dubious sources. When no one at the school knows who she is, a rebellious troll nearly gets her killed, and Jen finds herself caught in the middle of a multi-ethnic battle between magical creatures, it quickly becomes clear that some gifts should never be opened...especially when wizards are playing politics. But you know what they say...ask not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.
