Publisher's Synopsis

X-Ray Fluorescence: Technology, Performance and Applications opens with a study wherein the possibilities of polarizing energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry were fully explored to materialize rapid trace element determinations of various geological samples. The pressed powder pellet technique was adopted for sample preparation because of its simplicity. Following this, the authors provide a synthesis of experiments that examine phosphorus in soils and sediment using pXRF spectroscopy and compare with those done with traditional methods. P-XRF spectroscopy is commonly utilized in determining the total phosphorus concentration in environmental samples, such as soil and sediment. Lastly, the authors aim to reveal soil samples where the content of elements falls below the limit of detection using the regression analysis to obtain the dependence of its content from a common chemical analogue in profile.
