Publisher's Synopsis

The interstellar poetry Is there such thing as interstellar poetry? Dylan Thomas wrote a poem to his father, on his death bed: "Do not go gentle into that good night." This poem became known thanks to Christopher Nolan and his masterpiece of cinematography: "Interstellar." But how many of those who loved the movie really knew whose poem "the interstellar poem" is? In this era of technology, people don't read poetry anymore. Poetry became "vintage literature." I've found on the Internet forums dedicated to one question: who wrote the "interstellar poem"? I thought it was a joke. But it was not. It is the sad truth: people don't read poetry. The classics are too "classic," the contemporary poems are "too modern." I write poetry in a language that isn't my mother tongue. It is a challenge indeed but that's the beauty of it. This book of mine is "written on the wind." It containts my own poems, some classic poems I've translated (English-Romanian-Finnish and Romanian-English) and a few biographical stories, written bilingually. Dylan Thomas wrote his "interstellar poem" for his dying Dad, yet the poem became a symbol of survival of the whole humanity. My humble book smiles to the reader, cries with the reader, talks to the reader. I reach out to you, people who still love the scent of a book. Are you out there? Do you hear my thoughts? I am no writer, I am a teacher. Dorothy Parker was a writer. I am one of you, willing to look you in the eye and say: " Would you like to talk about poetry?." See me smiling. Love, Maria Magdalena.
