A complete open-and-go writing program for students in grades 1 to 3 that is based on the teaching methods of Ms. Charlotte Mason. Children acquire basic skills in public speaking with oral narrations. They learn to write complex sentences by copying passages from living books. And they also learn to spell and punctuate via studied dictation. Along with writing instruction, children using this volume learn about our Founding Fathers and brave men and women from the past. They also read selections from Grimm's Fairy Tales, poetry from early modern times, and fun cultural tales from around the world. This new writing series, Write from History, provides instruction through lessons that combine writing, history, and handwriting practice all in one workbook--a curriculum that saves teachers time by supplementing history and using a true handwriting font to reinforce proper penmanship. Day one incorporates reading, narration, and written summation. Days two and three involve copywork and optional grammar study. Days 4 and 5 include reading, oral narration, copywork, and optional grammar. For advanced second graders and third graders, a writing area is provided for dictation. This flexible curriculum, designed for growing students, comes in an open and go format for ease of use by the both teacher and student.
