ISIS, the Islamic State, Daesh is at war with what we consider to be modern civilization. If they fail to kill Americans, it is because they lack the means. They have the stated motive. The U.S. is engaged in a conflict it calls a War on Terrorism, which has turned into the longest war in American history. It was started with a false narrative that we must fight them there so we don't have to fight them here. The false narrative has come true, leading to the question how to stop Daesh without participating in a time of constant war.
