Publisher's Synopsis
This publication contains the text of the "Rome Declaration on World Food Security", reaffirming the right of everyone to have access to safe and nutritious food, consistent with the right to adequate food and the fundamental right of everyone to be free from hunger. Also included is the World Food Summit Plan of Action which contains seven commitments, including: to ensure an enabling political, social and economic environment; to implement policies aimed at eradicating poverty and inequality; and to pursue participatory and sustainable food, agriculture, fisheries, forestry and rural development policies.
