The lives marked, upended, even annihilated of those that seek a better life in a new country: crossing the Lybian hellscape, the deadly Mediterranean, like Faith and Mansoor, or attempting something desperate, but in a very creative way, as for Sunshine. This and other tales, across ten memorable short stories, capturing - across an extended timeline - places, people, and lives divided by borders. Borders that sometimes can be crossed, but that often are insurmountable and the cause of inhuman suffering. In stormy times, like the one we are living in, these ten short stories should shake our consciences and touch our hearts. They show us - at least those of us who want to see - the possibilities for humanity from a world without borders.
