A cardinal with an apple-colored coat
Fluttered my way; it sang a cheerful note,
And was a welcome sight amidst the grey
Fog that hovered low on a winter's day.
It's funny how something small as a bird
Scampering for seed on a frozen back yard
Can lift the soul and often inspire
One to spread his wings and soar to things higher.
Yet, it is true in the world around us
Where Sacred Spirit is in every bush.
Every tree and flower, and bird and beast,
Inspires our souls and calls us To Be
