He was a man who enjoyed the rush of the hunt. He sought it out in the adrenaline-fueled thrill of the kill, followed by an intense feeling of satisfaction. For most of his life, hunting proved sufficient to provide him with this rush; however, after a person interfered with his plans for that day, a bigger and better hunt resulted in his best kill ever.
He quickly discovered that the more intimate and personal the kill, the better the ultimate rush was. His problem was that his need for ever more violent thrills grew. But between him and his rush stood deputy sheriff Mack Thomas and sheriff Dale Magee.
The question they needed to answer was simple: Could they stop the killings? Or would someone close to them become the prey?
